FLOAT LIEUTENANTS

KREWE OF SELENE - Float Lieutenant Obligations, Rules & Regulations.

  • Thank you for taking the role of a Float Lieutenant, we are excited to have you take this role. This is an important role as you are the foundation of this Krewe! If we did not have you, we would not have a parade and we are honored you have chosen the Krewe of Selene. We have re-structured the rules and regulations of being a Float Lieutenant. The Krewe needs growth and to have growth we need more Lieutenants and more floats. We encourage anyone who is wanting to be a Lieutenant to do so. There will be two lieutenants for each float, these two people will be of equal stature and work together to ensure the rules and regulations of the Krewe of Selene are followed and enforced.

For 1st year Lieutenants – (Ladies that have not been a Lieutenant in 3 years)

  • To secure your own individual float, you must have a minimum of 14 paid members (all dues to be paid in full no later than July 9th of the current year.)
  • If you have 14 or more riders by the July 9th date you will be guaranteed at least a single decker and will not combine with any other float. There are only 5 Single Decker’s so therefore the first 5 groups to secure 14 riders will be assigned to a single decker first. We have small double deckers to choose from which will accommodate 18-20 so don’t stop recruiting at 14.
  • If you do not have the 14 paid membership minimum by July 9th; the Krewe will then have the right to combine
  • floats. At that point, if any floats are combined, only one float lieutenant from each combined group will be considered the Lieutenant for that combined float.
  • Lieutenants understand that for the 1st year they cannot be considered for any prizes for the membership Drive as they should have high record amount of recruits

For 2nd+ year Lieutenants –

  • To secure your own individual float, you must have a minimum of 24 paid members (all dues to be paid in full no
  • later than July 9th of the current year.)
  • If you do not have the 24 paid membership minimum by July 9th;
  • If you have enough for a single decker and one is available, we may put you on a single decker float so you do not have to combine.
  • If you do not have 24 riders and or we cannot put you on a single decker, the Krewe will then have the right to combine floats. At that point, if any floats are combined, only one float lieutenant from each combined group will be considered the Lieutenant for that combined float.
