Selene Float 2017

The Krewe of Selene is an all women’s night parade which rolls on March 1, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. on the traditional Slidell parade route from Spartan Drive, down Ponchartrain Drive, then to Front Street, up Gause Blvd and ending at Rouse’s Supermarket.  One of St. Tammany’s most successful parading organizations is the 21 year old Krewe of Selene, which is comprised of over 350 businesswomen.

This year’s 19 float procession, built by Mardi Gras Decorators, is entitled “THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS”  Floats will depict favorite subjects such as Our Favorite Vacation, Our Favorite Sport, Our Favorite Hobby, etc…

The Krewe’s 2019 Grand Marshall is Liz Reyes, Fox 8 New Personality and the Krewe also features a special community float dedicated to Our Favorite First Responders. 

Hand-made elaborately decorated purses are Selene’s top specialty throw. Selene also tosses a variety of light up items and specialty beads.

Queen Selene XXI, Cindy Harness, and King Selene the XXI, Lucas Bills, were chosen at the Krewe of Selene’s annual Coronation Ball which was held at the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans on December 1, 2018.
