About us

Located in Slidell, Louisiana, the Krewe of Selene was established in 1998 by a group of local professional women. It was and still is, the only night rolling parade in Slidell. We rode our charter year with a membership of 260 women and stand strong today with over 600 members. Our club is well known for it's generosity as we roll through the streets of Slidell on the Friday night before Mardi Gras.

The name Selene

According to Greek mythology, Selene was known as Goddess Of The Moon. She was the companion to Endymion, God of wine and merriment.
